Recipe Ingredient

  • 1 large fresh green chilli, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 green peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 2 carrots, peeled, diced
  • 1 large brown onion, halved, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoons tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add the chilli and green peppers, and cook gently for 5 minutes
  2. Place the beans in a bowl and cover with cold water. Set aside and soak overnight.
  3. Combine water, stock, tomatoes, tomato paste and allspice in a large saucepan.
  4. Bring slowly to the boil, then turn down the heat, cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately.
